The Sunset Concert Series will continue all summer with the next event scheduled for May 19. Con- certs commence at approximate- ly 6:30 pm (with a happy hour around 5:30) featuring a free live performance, craft beer and local wine, plus a food truck/vendor. Other dates for the series include Sat., May 12, Sat., June 9. Sat., July 14, Sat., August 11 and Sat., September 8. Local businesses sponsor the series to help defray the appear- ance fees for the bands and other expenses. Returning 2018 sponsors include Anna Point Marina, Dockside Re- alty, Lake Anna Life Media Group, Lake Anna Linens, Southern Im- age Build & Design, the North Anna Information Center and SAM FM 105.5. LABP Sunset Concert Series Chair- man Steve Harler takes the helm of the popular series from Mike Hig- gins, who ran it ably for the past two years. Prior to that, Jill Gajar- sky and C.C. McCotter began and shephered the series. Between 80-120 folks attend each concert, enjoying an evening on the lake complete with music, bev- erages, food and usually, a pretty stunning sunset. The concerts end about a half hour after sunset. Anna Point Marina does offer some dockage and plenty of park- ing if you come by land. Others will anchor just off shore and enjoy the bands from their boats.
