McCotter thinks LAAC has an important role representing Lake Anna citizens to Louisa, Orange and Spotsylvania Counties and told L&T is was time to reinvigorate the commit- tee and get more citizens involved. In a recent Chairman’s Message he noted, “The Lake Anna Advisory Committee, pro- vides critical input regarding the governance and management of Lake Anna… To do so, LAAC must harness the powerful, grass- roots ability of lake residents and business… It is my great hope that we, as concerned citizens and citizen representatives/servants, can set a higher standard for LAAC and en- sure that those that follow us will have an effective tool for communicating lake needs to surrounding counties. ” The Chairman, representing Jackson Dis- trict, has proposed an expansion of the LAAC Sub Committees (Budget, Environ- ment/Water Quality and Navigation/Safety) to include Recreation, Fishing, Develop- ment,Transportation, Legislative Affairs and Lake Anna State Park and is looking for citi- zen representatives to serve. Issues that have come before LAAC in the past and recently include: hydrilla man- agement, no wake and hazard buoy main- tenance and wake surfing regulation. Each falls under the wide agreed upon LAAC au- thority for review, comment and recommen- dation to the three counties. Current LAAC members include Supervi- sorToni Williams of Louisa County, Supervi- sor JimWhite of Orange County, Supervisor Kevin Marshall, Louisa County citizen repre- sentative Dick Shrum (Treasurer), Spotsylva- nia County citizen representative Greg Ben- ton (Vice Chair) Spotsylvania County citizen representative Robert Egan and Dominion Energy rep.
